Drive safely through toll booths, Ocean County NJ

Why not take an easy step to save lives?

By now you have probably heard of the tragic toll plaza accident that happened in South Jersey last weekend. It was truly an unfortunate incident, and my thoughts are with the victims and their families.

But, reading this story made me think about how we could all be a little bit safer when it comes to driving. No matter where the drivers are coming from, I’ve seen Jersey drivers speed up as they approach toll plazas and slow down at the very last second.

If you’re from Ocean County, there’s a good chance you or your loved ones are driving a toll road almost every day. Don’t you want them to come home safely every day?

Tragic accidents or accidents of any kind can be avoided if drivers exercise caution while driving. I know we’re all in a rush (I’m guilty of that too), but at the end of the day, we’re not the only ones on the road. In this unfortunate situation, it was not just the drivers who were in danger, it was also a toll.

The next time you get in a car, slow down, put your phone away, and be careful, especially when approaching toll booths. If you can’t do it for yourself, at least do it for the safety of others and your loved ones.

Thanks, Ocean County.
