The Galaxy S20 FE debuted last year, offering a balanced combination of convenient features for a reasonable starting price of $ 699. But its successor, the Galaxy S21 FE, might never launch. Samsung would deleted support pages for the Galaxy S21 FE a few days later South Korean publication DDaily reported that the company is canceling its alleged October Galaxy Unpacked event and is considering canceling the device as well.

Samsung launched the expensive foldable Galaxy z fold 3 and Galaxy z flip 3 to his August Unpacked event, and although upgrades to other phones in the Galaxy S21 range are also on their way in the near future – here is what we know about the Galaxy S22 so far – Drew Blackard, vice president of product management for Samsung Electronics America, previously said in an interview with CNET that they are not a threat to the Galaxy FE or Note.

There have been some leaks and other information regarding the possible specifications and availability of the Galaxy S21 FE, so let’s dive into what we know so far. We’ll continue to update this as the release date draws near and we’ll learn more.

Galaxy S21 FE Specifications

The Galaxy S21 FE specification list is said to have appeared on the Chinese TENAA certification site (via MyFixGuide). According to the listing, the phone would have a 6.4-inch display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, a 4370 mAh battery, three cameras (a 32-megapixel primary lens, a 12-megapixel, and an 8-megapixel ), a 12-megapixel front camera, a built-in fingerprint sensor and support for 45-watt fast charging. The phone would also include 8GB of RAM along with 128GB and 256GB storage options.

If true, a 6.4-inch screen would make the phone a bit larger than the 6.2-inch screen of the top-end Galaxy S21, while still being slightly smaller than the 6.5-inch screen. last year’s Galaxy S20 FE. However, this camera would be both an advancement from the Galaxy S20 FE’s 12-megapixel primary lens and a step back from the S21’s 64-megapixel camera.

Other specifications were reportedly spotted on the Google Play console analysis tool, according to MyFixGuide, including 6 GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 888 chip.

The phone could also include four free months of YouTube Premium, like SamMobile Reports that Samsung France’s website briefly listed this benefit as coming with the purchase of a Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, or Galaxy S21 Ultra.

A user manual leak for the Galaxy S21 FE, obtained by SamMobile, supported some of the previously mentioned features, including an in-display fingerprint sensor. It also showed that the new phone can offer reverse wireless charging support, IP68 dust and water resistance, and Dolby Atmos support. The manual didn’t mention a microSD slot, which appeared on the Galaxy S20 FE last year.

Rumors have it that a sequel to the Galaxy S20 FE is coming.

What will the S21 FE look like?

Famous leaker Evan Blass posted images that could be the Galaxy S21 FE.

The Evan Blass leaker tweeted various alleged Samsung renderings in July, which included a possible preview of the Galaxy S21 FE. Blass later revealed what he said he was 3d renderings of the next smartphone on Twitter in August.

According to reports on his account, the phone could look similar to the Galaxy S21, including a punchout for the front camera and triple cameras on the back.

The similarity to the S21 makes sense: the Galaxy S20 FE retained much of the S20’s design language while reducing screen resolution and cameras which likely helped drive the price down. And according to a leak reported by SamMobile, the S21 FE would be available in at least five colors.

The user manual leak for the next phone, also from SamMobile, showed that the Galaxy S21 FE will be available in white, black, green and purple.

We may have gotten a glimpse of the Galaxy S21 FE in a back-to-school promotional image briefly posted on Samsung’s official Instagram account in August. The phone is presented in a backpack alongside a laptop and a pair of Galaxy Buds Pro. It looks like Galaxy s21 from behind, but is displayed in a lilac color which is currently not one of the color options for the Galaxy S21. The message has since been deleted from Samsung’s account.

How much will the S21 FE cost?

Pricing for the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE started at $ 699 in the US, which was a substantial discount from the Galaxy S20’s starting price of $ 999. That price was also lower than the $ 749 starting price of its rival OnePlus 8T.

However, the Galaxy S21’s starting price of $ 800 was significantly lower than the Galaxy S20, and it seems unlikely that a Galaxy S21 FE will receive a similar $ 300 rebate – like the Galaxy A Series phones occupy this price range of less than $ 500.

Although we have no concrete pricing information, a report of GizChina hypothesizes that the S21 FE range could launch with a starting price of $ 699, the same as the starting price at launch of the Galaxy S20 FE. That price would still place it around $ 100 less than the Galaxy S21, positioning it as a higher value option.

While the tweeted images are of the Galaxy S21 FE, the phone appears to be similar in design to the more expensive Galaxy S21.

When will it be announced and published?

Although the Galaxy S21 FE was not unveiled at the August foldable event, it’s possible that this will follow last year’s pattern of getting a stand-alone ad, if it’s advertised at all.

The The Galaxy S20 FE had its own Unpacked event in September 2020; the phone reveal was touted as “a tribute to its Galaxy fans”. The release of this phone, however, was very close to the release of the Z-fold 2, which also took place in September. Maybe this year’s big phones will have a similar space. A September report from John Prosser of Front Page Tech suggests that the Galaxy S21 FE launch date will be in October. The smartphone will be scheduled for pre-order on October 20, according to the report.

However, according to Daily, Samsung quashed its October Galaxy Unpacked rumor where the company was scheduled to unveil the Galaxy S21 FE. Samsung is also consider canceling the device, says the report. The move is said to be due to higher-than-expected sales of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the continued shortage of chips.

Following the cancellation rumors, as mentioned above, Samsung reportedly removed support pages for the Galaxy S21 FE. The company previously added support pages for the smartphone under its model number, SM-G990B, but it was reported that Samsung had removed the pages from its Hong Kong, Singapore, and South Africa websites. A message saying that “the link is now unavailable” now appears instead of the support pages.

Leaker @IceUniverse said it’s “reasonable” for Samsung to cancel the Galaxy S21 FE if the company releases the Galaxy s22 in December.
