Hillsborough County, Florida (April 28, 2022) – Hillsborough County Water Resources is upgrading its utility bill payment system for water, wastewater and reclaimed water customers beginning April 28.
Upgrading the online utility bill payment system will enhance data security and improve services. However, this change will require all customers to re-register their accounts for online and phone payments.
Customers who have already set up automatic bill payments through the county will see this service continue uninterrupted, but customers will still need to re-register to access the billing system to make changes. All customers who enroll in the new system will automatically default to more sustainable paperless billing and receive their monthly billing statements via email, with the option to opt into paper bills.
The online invoicing system allows customers to make an online payment, view up to 13 months of invoices and change account settings for services such as automatic payment, email notifications and paperless billing.
Detailed instructions for re-registration are available at HCFLGov.net/WaterBill.
The following information will be required to re-register:
- The 10-digit water resources department account number
- The last four digits of the Social Security number or federal identification number registered for the utility account
- A valid email address and phone number to complete the required multi-factor authentication process
Customer contact details will also be used to distribute emergency alerts via SMS and emails.
Customers attempting to access the old system on or after April 28 will be automatically redirected to the new bill payment page to re-enroll. Technical support is available 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday by calling (813) 276-2700.
